ICC Russia Secretary General Tatyana Monegan noted:
“Today we stand on the threshold of a landmark development – the creation of the new Environmental Code of Russia. This document should become the foundation for a comprehensive reset of the country’s environmental protection system.
But our ambitions and our responsibility extend beyond national borders. At the centre of our discussion is the harmonisation of environmental standards and approaches to carbon regulation within the Eurasian Economic Union and in Central Asia. The extent to which we succeed in building this cooperation will determine the establishment of uniform and fair ‘rules of the game’ for business and the creation of conditions for a ‘sustainable future’ for our entire macro-region.”
